The right time for a hair transplant for women
Women can use hair transplants for two purposes:
Bring down a hairline that has grown too high.
To treat hair loss patterns. Reducing hair growth line with hair transplant is a surgery by which healthy hair is removed from the donor area (hair bank) by FIT or FUT method and is used to create women’s hair line.
Women may experience female or male pattern hair loss. The female pattern should be carefully examined to determine if the person is a good candidate for hair transplant surgery.
Sometimes female hair loss is different from male pattern baldness. Sometimes women do not have strong hair in the area of the hair bank (donor) on the sides and back of the head. In fact, women are prone to hair loss on all parts of the scalp. This makes them unsuitable volunteers for hair transplants, so that transplanted hair is temporarily pulled out in some places.
With all of this in mind, hair transplants are not beneficial for every woman who suffers from hair loss and are only effective for some of them. Before transplanting, the doctor should consider the size of the area to be lost and the number of fixed hairs on the patient’s head for the hair restoration process
Differences between hair transplants in men and women
A peeled scar does not matter to women – many men have short hair in the donor area, so the FUT method is not a good option for them (because the peeled area will be visible on their head). Women rarely have very short hair. So they can consider a hair transplant strip to maximize the number of grafts and reduce the cost of hair transplants (Covers the hair of other parts on the removed layer)
Women have more access to the hair donor area – Women who do not have a male pattern hair loss have a larger hair donor area because in this case, the hair above the scalp is not prone to hair loss and can be used for transplantation. This is in contrast to men who are in the advanced stages of hair loss and can only use the back and sides of the head to remove hair.
Women Cannot Use Body Hair for Transplantation – Many men can use hair from other parts of the body, such as the beard and body hair, as a graft, which most women do not have.
The cost of women’s hair transplants
The cost of hair transplants in women is not much different from the cost of hair transplants in men In women hair transplantation, the cheapest method of hair transplantation is FUT and the most expensive of them is ARTAS robotic hair transplantation. Usually, thebest hair transplant method for women is FIT method or micro FIT hair transplantation, which is the newest method of hair transplantation in Iran
The approximate cost of hair transplantation is between 5 to 7 million tomans for the usual methods of hair transplantation in women.
